High quality low waste starter mending kit for jeans packaged in a reusable cotton canvas bag.
This is a good kit for starting your mending journey on jeans, denims, and other medium weight fabrics. It contains 100 grams of an assortment of new strong cotton fabrics. These are irregular cuts and strips which is nice for mending irregular rips and holes :-)
These fabrics are colourfast and do not need to be pre-washed. The colours are saturated, deep, and slightly muted which makes co-ordinate with denim blues particularly well. Some pieces are quite long which is helpful for some mending situations. The shapes are irregular, mainly cuts in long narrow (approx. 3" to 4 1/2" wide, 2" to 6" wide), The number of different fabrics, their shapes and sizes, will vary but all have been carefully chosen to bring out the beauty of your denim mending. These fabrics are machine wash and dry, preshrunk and colourfast.
The notions (tools) in this kit are brands from France and Japan known for their quality so you can count on using them for a long time.
- 100 grams of high quality cotton fabrics pieces
- 1 pack of 12 of Bohin special jeans hand sewing needles
- 100 meters of Daruma fine hand sewing thread, you will receive either brown or gold thread it match fabrics in your kit
- 1 metal ring thimble, you will receive either Little House, Japan or Tulip Brand, Japan in your kit
- 4" X 4" reusable washable stencil
- 2 wash away ink fabric markers, one blue, one white (These are the 'low waste' markers that come without a barrel. It cuts down on plastic waste, you use them as they are. Note: all wash away markers will stop working if you don't keep them tightly capped every time you lay them down. Always store them upright when not in use)
- 1 reusable 6" X 9" cotton canvas bag with zipper (You could stitch it too :-)
