This white cotton is PFD (prepared for dye) with a smooth finish. Use it for immersion dying, painting, block printing, tie dye, fabric pens, and more. Combine it with hand or machine stitching techniques, or use for sewing projects
PFD means prepared for dye, which means you should not need to scour it, all the 'gunk' has been removed. That being said, I would still wash it (without detergent)at the least before dying or painting.
Note: If you are using vegetable dyes you will still need to mordant this fabric.
