All Japanese Yarn Dyed Cotton Fabric for Quilting & Sewing
This Japanese Yarn-Dyed Cotton Fabric is suitable for making quilts, garments, home decor, accessories and bags. It is also a favourite fabric for visible mending, sashiko boro style stitching, and creative textile projects.
Dyed yarn fabrics get their distinctive appearance and feel from how they are woven. The yarns are dyed first, and then the cloth is made. Often a few different weights or textures of yarn are woven into the cloth to add interest and texture to the surface.
Weaving the cloth from pre-dyed yarn means the colour is embedded in the fabric and will not fade off the surface with washing.
A Threaded Needle's Japanese yarn-dyed cotton fabrics are:
- 100% cotton
- Approximately 43–44" (109–112 cm) wide
- Colourfast
- Preshrunk, you do not need to preshrink before using
- Machine wash and dry , use warm and gentle settings
- Press if desired
Some fabrics are available as pre-cut pieces or fabric bundles. Fabrics sold from the bolt are cut to order.
Ordering Fabric from the Bolt
Fabric is sold in 10-inch increments.
- Quantity 1 = 10" × 44"
- Quantity 2 = 20" × 44"
- Quantity 3 = 30" × 44"
- Quantity 4 = 40" × 44"
Multiple quantities will be cut as one continuous, uncut length.
