Dyed yarn cotton fabric is suitable for home sewing, piecing, appliqué, quilting, clothing, boro stitching, and home decor projects. Very popular for Japanese Patchwork style projects, and the perfect fabric for those of you sewing Yoko Saito projects.

Ordering: This fabric is 44" wide. Your fabric will be sent to you in one continuous piece. Please order 1 unit for each 1/4 meter (44" x 10") of fabric. Example: 4 units = 1 meter.  You will see the price change in your cart.

Dyed yarn fabrics get their distinctive appearance and feel from how they are woven. The yarns (threads) are dyed first, and then the cloth is woven. Often a few different weights or textures of yarn (thread) are woven into the cloth to create a more textured fabric. The front and back of the fabrics are both 'right sides", some have quite different textures. When this happens I have included a photograph to show both sides.  I have also tried to include a photograph with other dyed yarn fabrics to help you judge colors and textures. The safety pin in the photographs is 1" long to help you judge scale.

Dyed yarn fabrics are suitable for machine or hand sewing. I particularly like them for hand appliqué and hand stitching (boro) as the weave lets the needle travel through easily.

Recommended care instructions: Machine wash in lukewarm water, remove from dryer before fully dry, press if desired. These fabrics have little shrinkage and keep their color and drape when washed.
