This table mat is a nice beginner sashiko project. The shippou-tsunagi design is printed on the fabric with wash out ink so you can skip the transfer step and go straight to enjoying your stitching. The thread and needle are included. Approx finished size: 12" X 18".
The stitch length markings on the fabric make it easy to keep your stitching even and straight.
About the pattern: Shippou-tsunagi means linked seven treasures or linked seven precious things, but is often called linked Flowers. This is one of the most popular sashiko patterns.

- Do not iron before your stitching is finished, heat may fix the print.
Note the fabric in the kit is twice the length of the design. You are meant to fold the plain half of the fabric under the printed half and stitch through both layers. If you bury your thread ends between the two layers of cloth both sides of the finished mat will show the stitched design nicely.
