This is a tissue printed sashiko and sewing pattern recommended for people who are comfortable with sashiko stitching without the dashed marked lines. You will be stitching  over solid marked lines setting your own stitch length.

Each sewing tissue pattern piece has the sashiko pattern printed on the tissue to make placement easy to do.

In the envelope:

  • 5  projects: Tea cozy, Hexi table mat, table napkin ring, furoshiki wrapping cloth (not shown), and small round cherry blossom hot pad
  • printed on professional sewing grade tissue
  • instructions for how to do the transfer step
  • instructions and tips for how to do sashiko stitching
  • instructions for sewing the projects
  • plus a bonus general sashiko stitching handout

The pattern contains instructions for using a fusible featherweight interfacing to trace and fuse the pattern to the fabric before stitching. (You could use sewing carbon if you are not comfortable with the interfacing method, but I recommend trying the interfacing if you like to make bigger projects which you are transferring to your own fabric)

Supplies you can find on this website:

  • Fabric for stitching, preferably natural fibre like cotton or linen
  • sashiko thread
  • sashiko needle
  • non-woven fusible featherweight interfacing
  • a permanent ink fine tip pen
  • lining fabric and quilt batting for all projects
