This 100% cotton fabric is perfect for sashiko, embroidery, visible mending, clothing, soft home furnishings, bags, and throws. This fabric is woven, then hand dyed in small batches in the Azumino district of Japan. During dying it undergoes a treatment which leaves it with a permanent distinctive texture which will show up more when it has been washed once, and does not wash out in future washing. This added texture lends depth to your stitching but is subtle enough not to compete with it.
It is fabric thicker and softer than American quilting fabrics and has a cozy drape.
It will wear well over time, is preshrunk, colourfast, and machine washable.
Suitable for hand or machine sewing.
