Dyed yarn cotton fabric is suitable for quilting, clothing, clothing, and most home sewing projects. It is the perfect fabric for those of you sewing Japanese quilts or Yoko Saito projects.
Depending on how you use them, the subtle complex colours in these fabrics can be used together to create quiet cozy accents, or sophisticated contrasts to modern urban environments.
Suitable for machine and hand sewing. Pre-shrunk, colourfast, machine was and dry.
How to order the amount you need:
The fabric is 44" wide. Order the length you need in increments of 10". In other words, if you order 1 you will receive 10" long by 44" wide, if you order 2 you will receive 20" long by 44" wide, if you order 3 you will receive 30" long by 44" wide. You fabric will be sent in one uncut length.
Dyed yarn fabrics get their distinctive appearance and feel from how they are woven. The yarns (threads) are dyed first, and then the cloth is woven. Often a few different weights or textures of yarn (thread) are woven into the cloth to create a more textured fabric. Because the yarn is dyed before weaving the colour is embedded in the fabric and will not fade off the surface with washing. In most cases it also means both sides of the fabric can be used as the 'right' side, although each side may look slightly different from the other.
When possible I've included photographs with other fabrics, with a 1" safety pin (or a ruler), and a few crayola crayons, as well as showing both sides in order to help you judge colours, scale and texture.
Machine wash in lukewarm water, remove from dryer before fully dry, press if desired. These fabrics have been pre-shruck and will keep their colour and body when washed.
