This dark navy cotton fabric panel features a Japanese Maple Tree in the fall, its leaves are blowing gently toward a footbridge in the distance. It is divided into four panels in a style seen in earlier centuries Japanese paintings.
Sashiko stitched in a single colour, or in several colours, this will be an impressive piece when finished.
Although it is a large piece (30" X 43"), the stitching is not dense and will go along quickly on this piece. If you are going to sew it into a project (bordered wall hanging, quilt, etc) you could cut apart the sections for easier handling while stitching.
Note: You could also choose to applique the leaves, or use some embroidery stitches.
This panel is printed on high quality cotton with wash out ink. It is important not to let it get wet before the stitching is finished. Also, do not iron it as heat may set the ink. When finished, soak and wash gently to remove all the markings, dry and press from the back.
