A Threaded Needle is moving to Maple Ridge BC March 1. Nothing will change for our online customers, but for our local show shoppers it means we will be missing some spring shows :-( We will still be at Creative Festival, Abbotsford, and we'll have a small booth at Creative Festival in Victoria in March.
Contains full size patterns for all projects shown on cover, also instructions for how to sashiko stitch and how to sew up you project.
The sashiko designs in this pattern have symbolic meanings. They are Flax to symbolize strong health and connection to community. This one is often stitched on baby clothes and blankets. Tortoiseshell symbolizes longevity, so it might be a nice touch on a gift for a birthday. Bishamon symbolizes prosperity and linked crosses, luck.
I can't help thinking that combined in a quilt for a gift you would be wishing the recipient good health, long life, prosperity, luck and many friends. How nice would that be to receive?
