This 7 1/2" sashiko stitched design makes a beautiful round mat, but it would also make a nice block in a quilt.
The pattern includes a full size design, instructions for transferring the design to your fabric, how to do sashiko stitching, and tips and links for more on sashiko stitching.
(You can find these on this website in the Sashiko All collection :-)
2 pieces of 12" X 12" cotton fabric for front and back
1 piece of batting for filling layer
Sashiko thread ( I use the Olympus 20 meter skeins, one is more than enough)
For transferring your design, use fusible white featherweight interfacing OR Sewing transfer paper, depending on which method you prefer. If you aren't sure see my blog about ways to transfer your sashiko design (Click on sashiko blog at he top of this page)
