This medium weight cotton fabric is dyed in natural indigo plant dye is perfect for Sashiko stitching, boro stitching, visible mending, piecework and other sewing projects.
It is a perfect fabric for the 365 Sashiko quilt project in Susan Briscoe's book by the same name.
- Colour: Darkest blue shade of indigo dye (I've put the next 2 shades (dark blue & medium blue) in the photos here so you can compare)
- 44" wide
- Preshrunk, machine wash and dry on low temperatures
- This fabric has been very well rinsed to remove unfixed dye so it won't rub off on your fingers or turn nearby fabrics smudgy blue.
- Natural indigo dye has an odour (kind of musty). It will wash out and the cloth will gradually soften and fade over time with washings.
To order: order 1 for every half meter in length you want. This means if you order 2 you will be sent 1 meter, order 3 to be sent 1.5 meters and so on. Your fabric will be sent to you in one uncut piece.
