Dyed yarn cotton fabric is suitable for home sewing, piecing, appliqué, quilting, clothing, boro stitching, and home decor projects. Very popular for Japanese Patchwork style projects, and the perfect fabric for those of you sewing Yoko Saito projects. Dyed yarn fabrics are suitable for machine or hand sewing. I particularly like them for hand appliqué and hand stitching as the weave lets the needle travel through easily.
There are 3 blues in this fabric. This one is the bottom one of the 3 shown in the photograph. I've put this photograph in so that you can compare the colour.
This fabric is 100 % cotton, 44" wide. Your fabric will be sent to you in one continuous piece. Please order 1 unit for each 1/4 meter (10" x 44") of fabric. Example: 2 units = 1/2 meter (20" X 44"), 4 units = 1 meter (39" X 44"). You will see the price change in your cart.
Dyed Yarn cotton fabrics get their distinctive appearance and feel from how they are woven. The yarns (threads) are dyed first, and then the cloth is woven. Often a few different weights or textures of yarn (thread) are woven into the cloth to create a more textured fabric. The front and back of the fabrics are both 'right sides", some have quite different textures. When this happens I have included a photograph which shows both sides.
Machine wash in lukewarm water, remove from dryer before fully dry, press if desired. These fabrics have little shrinkage and keep their colour and drape when washed.
