April 10/19. Two notes: Yoko Saito books are back in stock and I've aded new dyed yarn fabric bundles. Also, working conditions are a little challenging from the big move :-) so please let me know if you find any errors, or have any concerns with your orders. Happy stitching! Susan
Ordering: This fabric is 44" wide. Your fabric will be sent to you in one continuous piece. Please order 1 unit for each 1/4 meter (44" x 10") of fabric. Example: 4 units = 1 meter. You will see the price change in your cart.
This purple is muted and leans toward the warm color scale. I've included a photo of this fabric with 2 other purples to help with judging the color on your computer. Screens vary in how colors look on them, but this lets you see the tones together.
Dyed yarn cotton fabric is suitable for home sewing, piecing, appliqué, quilting, clothing, and home decor projects. Very popular for Japanese Patchwork style projects, and the perfect fabric for those of you sewing Yoko Saito projects.
Dyed yarn fabrics get their distinctive appearance and feel from how they are woven. The yarns (threads) are dyed first, and then the cloth is woven. Often a few different weights or textures of yarn (thread) are woven into the cloth to create a more textured fabric.
Dyed yarn fabrics are suitable for machine or hand sewing. I particularly like them for hand appliqué and stitching as the weave lets the needle travel through easily.
Recommended care instructions: Machine wash in lukewarm water, remove from dryer before fully dry, press if desired. These fabrics have little shrinkage and keep their color and drape when washed.
