This is a digital sashiko pattern. No need to wait for the mail :-) Digital patterns are sent to you in an email link from the website. You can then print the pattern immediately on regular copy paper and start your new project. Nice hey? If you have other things in the same order they will be mailed to you as usual, but the digital pattern will be sent as soon as your payment is confirmed.
You will get
This pattern is suitable for learning sashiko. The pattern pages you receive include the full size pattern pieces, tips for choosing fabric, thread and needles, instructions for 2 methods for transferring the design to your fabric, and instructions and tips for how to do sashiko stitching, and links to a free 4 part sashiko tutorial.
Materials
To stitch the design you will need a sashiko needle, sashiko thread, and fabric. How much depends on what you do with the design. For a table mat like the one pictured here, order two 20 meter skeins of Olympus sashiko thread, 1/2 meter of sashiko stitching fabric, and either white featherweight fusible interfacing OR sewing transfer paper.
Printing Tips
- Use regular size copy paper
- To be sure this pattern prints at the right size check that your printer is set at 100%. Your printer probably calls this 'paper scaling' and if it says 'none' that will be the same as 100%
- For patterns with pieces larger than 8 x 11, you will need to match and tape pattern pages together to make the design 'whole'
- You can save ink and paper by printing only the pages you need and reading the others on screen.
