This ready to stitch sashiko image is from a Wood-bock Print "Mt.Fuji 36 Views" by Hokudasi Katsushika. It is called  "Soushuu Umezawa-no-Hidari" or Seven Cranes

This package contains pre-printed ready to stitch cotton fabric only. It is the same cotton fabric that the other Olympus sashiko samplers are printed on.

Printed with wash out ink on navy cotton fabric, the design is 12" x 12"  but the fabric provided is 13" x 26".  For a nicer and more traditional sashiko piece, fold the unprinted fabric to the back of the printed fabric and do the stitching through both layers.

The Olympus thin sashiko thread is recommended for this design. 1 ball will be enough to complete the stitching but you may want more than 1 in order to stitch the design in colours.

Some translated English instruction are included, if you have done some hand stitching before they should be adequate :-)  Short instructions are this: Thread your needle, stitch over the markings and when you have stitched all of the design, rinse the fabric to remove the printed markings. Dry and press. The markings will wash away entirely so please don't get the fabric damp before you are finished. Also, heat will set the markings so also do not iron the cloth before you have washed them out. Once finished you can add the block to a quilt, add a backing to make a cushion, or simply hem and enjoy it as it is :-)
