This sashiko graphing acrylic stencil lets you put you own sashiko or hitome-zashi  sashiko design almost anywhere.  Simply use the iron away pen that comes with the stencil to mark you fabric with evenly spaced dots, remove the stencil and use the pen to draw the stitching design lines.  Then stitch, iron the area to remove the markings, and you're done.

Using a grid stencil allows you to easily draw out sashiko designs you see in books. This stencil is suitable for making hitome-sashi sashiko patterns that are based on evenly spaced alternating rows of stitches, and for the kuguri designs which involve using those lines of stitching to weave threads under to create Kuguri-sashi patterns.

Great for adding visible stitching mending patches on clothing.

Note:  This stencil comes with an iron away pen in either white for dark fabrics or black for white and light coloured fabrics. Choose pen colour when placing your order. More of these pens are available on this website. They are called "Low waste iron away pens" because they have no outer plastic barrel.
