"La bouquetiere" Florets
Please select all options.
This is one of several La bouquetiere Kurguri-sashi kits from Olympus, Japan. Kurguri means 'under' and Sashi is 'to stitch'. These kits are completed in two steps. First the fabric is stitched with a hitome-sashi design, then threads are woven under these threads to add depth and texture to the design.
These kits are very enjoyable projects if you have already stitched hitome-sashi designs and are comfortable with following diagramed instructions. They can be challenging because they are combining two or more techniques plus several sashiko designs and you will likely want to work them in more then one thread colour :-) You can find photographs and instructions for this technique in my blogs, but that will not show you the steps for this exact design.
Finished size 12-1/4" x12-1/4"
You will need 5 skeins of 20 meter Olympus sashiko thread or 2 ball pf Olympus this sashiko thread.
