This small Kogin starter kit makes a 4" X 4" coaster, or you could use it to make a project of your own, such as a needle book cover, pin cushion pillow, or detail on a special bag.

New: English directions are included now (the original Japanese directions are still in the package also). This kit includes Kogin cotton 18 count fabric, Kogin thread and a Kogin needle package, also a large clear stitching diagram.
This is a nice stitching project for a restful day. Kogin is a form of Sashiko stitching and was used to create thick strong stitched areas on the areas of clothing that got the most wear, such as cuffs. It is created by single stitches passing over a counted number of threads on a fabric weave coarse enough for you to see and count the threads. It creates very rich beautiful tapestry art effect that is always admired.
