June 18/19. Still adding new dyed yarn fabrics this week! Happy shopping :-)
This is a wonderful sashiko panel combining traditional designs, family crest designs, hitomezashi designs, characters, images, and the tied sheaf, a symbol for good fortune in new beginnings. Please read to the bottom of this description before deciding to order. Available in navy, black, red, and gray.
You could stitch the entire 100cm x110cm (39" x 43") and use it as a hanging or throw quilt, or the designer has given generous seam allowances and cutting lines for each block and section to allow you to easily cut it into blocks and panels to incorporate into smaller projects. Designed by Hitomi Fujita.
The fabric is rich deep navy blue with a slightly textured (dobby) weave, colorfast washable 100% cotton. All markings will wash away after stitching, including any area you didn't feel like stitching :-D
NOTE: This fabric is more tightly woven than our other sashiko fabrics and may not be a good choice if you have weaker hands or if you are a beginner stitcher. I recommend a sharp thinner sashiko needle, like the Hiroshima Tulip needles for it. I also recommend that you use the thinner 100 meter sashiko thread by Olympus unless you have strong fingers/hands.
Breakdown of what is in the panel: 9 blocks 10" x 10", 12 blocks 3 1/2" x 3 1/2", 1 block 12" x 7", 1 block 10" x 23", 1 dragonfly block 10" x 15"
