Cotton fabric for hand stitching. Order by the half meter (2 units = 1 meter) Your fabric will be sent in one continuous piece.
This is very dark blue/black colour with a smooth firm surface a bit heavier than American quilting cottons. It has a crisp linen-like feel which will likely soften some with washing. It is 100% cotton, imported from Japan. It is 42/43" wide, colourfast, preshrunk, machine wash and dry. The weave appears tight but the thick threads and bigger Sashiko needles pass through it easily.
But note: It is a very dark indigo colour, some of you will insist it is black it is so dark :-) There are other fabrics suitable for Sashiko stitching on this website which you can choose if that isn't suitable for your project. Look in Fabrics for Hand Stitching.
