This is a nice design for someone who would enjoy a small easy to complete bit of stitching. It contains everything needed to make a pretty 12" x 12" cloth that could be used in the kitchen to cover a bowl of fruit, eggs, or breads, or as an absorbent tea towel. Or you could make a cushion, or stitch several to make a runner. Stitch a few more and make a quilt top...
Sashiko stitching is a simple running stitch. The threads are thick and easy to handle and the needles are big with large easy-to-thread eyes.
The kit contains navy cotton fabric with the design printed onto it (the design will wash away cleanly after the stitching is finished), 4 colour of Olympus sashiko thread, sashiko needles and English directions.
This fabric and the sashiko thread will become prettier after being washed a few times. Be sure to finish any raw edges first, but then you can throw it in the washing machine. Remove while damp and iron.
Note: Please do not iron the design before you have stitched it or the printed design may not wash out later.
