I brought this Fujix thread in as a treat for my boro stitchers, visible menders and other hand stitchers who (like me) get excited about natural plant dyes, natural fibres, and texture! The skeins are 20 meters of 100% cotton about the same thickness as the 20 meter skeins of Olympus sashiko thread.
This one is a Brick colour
These threads are plant dyed and the colour has been fixed using tannin. This means the colour will not wash out. The thread finish is flat and slightly rough so your stitching will have a vintage look from the beginning. It will likely look its best on natural cotton, flax or linen fabrics with some surface texture.
Olympus describes this threads this way: "This thread is treated with natural varnish that has been used as an antiseptic and water-proof coating in the Orient for 1000 years. After being exposed to ultra-violet rays, oxidation, temperature, and humidity, the thread gradually change colours", becoming more beautiful with age.
