Dyed yarn cotton fabric is suitable for home sewing, piecing, appliqué, quilting, clothing, boro stitching and home decor projects. Very popular for Japanese Patchwork style projects, and the perfect fabric for those of you sewing Yoko Saito projects.
The safety pin in the photograph is included for scale and is 1" long. Where possible I have included a photograph with other dyed yarn fabrics to help you judge colors. This 'muddy' green is an unusual color, nice for woodland scenes. It has a nice drape particularly suitable for clothing.
Ordering: This fabric is 44" wide. Your fabric will be sent to you in one continuous piece. Please order 1 unit for each 1/4 meter (44" x 10") of fabric. Example: 4 units = 1 meter. You will see the price change in your cart.
Dyed yarn fabrics get their distinctive appearance and feel from how they are woven. The yarns (threads) are dyed first, and then the cloth is woven. Often a few different weights or textures of yarn (thread) are woven into the cloth to create a more textured fabric.
Dyed yarn fabrics are suitable for machine or hand sewing. I particularly like them for hand appliqué and boro stitching as the weave lets the needle travel through easily.
Recommended care instructions: Machine wash in lukewarm water, remove from dryer before fully dry, press if desired. These fabrics have very little shrinkage and keep their color and drape when washed.
Infrequently sent projects and creative encouragements, new product photos and occasional sales.
