Beautiful bags, Pouches, & Quilts is another lovely book from Japanese Master Quilt and Bag Designer Yoko Saito. Containing 25 projects with instructions for Japanese sewing techniques and large paper pattern pieces, this is a book you could get a lot of use from over time :-)
It contains some small projects, and a number of functional bags ranging from easy to complex to make, and a quilt pattern that is a stunning take on American quilts. It is based on an early (18th?) century weaving pattern and your brain reads that immediately, but on closer look I thought it was applique on a base fabric. Looking closer, it turns out to be entirely pieced and layout pattern almost looks like a weaving design. My brain is so hooked into this quilt!
