This 12 Quilt Block applique pattern from Piece O'cake Designs is one of my favorite patterns I have ever used with dyed yarn fabrics! I've put some photos of the blocks I used to make a runner from these here. And here are some notes about what I did: I used only 5 of the blocks with 5 closely coordinating dyed yarn fabrics, and after the applique was done, I sewed then to each other in a row (not separating fabric). The I added a piece of the tongue pattern to each end and used dyed yarn seam biding to bind the entire runner. You can find precut dyed yarn binding in the dyed yarn precut section on this site.
The blocks are 12" x 12" and the 12 block quilt measures 52" x 65". The optional 4 block quilt measures 39" x 39".
I would love to make the entire quilt in dyed yarn fabrics- the birds and flower look so great in the taupe beige and browns with a hit of brick red and a little yellow :-)
