Mending and Japanese boro have joined embroidery in being rediscovered as satisfyingly creative ways to de-stress. Here are some products to get you started down this satisfying creative journey.

Japanese Boro stitching dates back to the 1600's. By stitching fabric pieces together and overstitching them as needed, women gave the last hurrah to usable cloth cut from worn out fabrics.  Modern Boro stitching is the use of small beautiful fabric pieces and heavy hand stitching to create textile art.

Visible Mending a modern version of boro, with additions :-)

Both are part of the new slow mindful stitching, visible mending, repairing and repurposing movements.
