This is a nice design for someone who would enjoy a small easy to complete bit of stitching. It contains everything needed to make a pretty 12" x 12" cloth that could be used in the kitchen to cover a bowl of fruit, eggs, or breads, or as an absorbent tea towel. Or you could make a cushion, or stitch several to make a runner. Stitch a few more and make a quilt top...
Sashiko stitching is a simple running stitch. The threads are thick and easy to handle and the needles are big with large easy-to-thread eyes (for a needle :-)) This makes this a good kit if you have an elder who would enjoy some stitching but whose eyes and hands aren't what they used to be!
The kit contains white cotton fabric with the design printed onto it (the design will wash away cleanly after the stitching is finished), 2 skeins of Olympus sashiko thread, sashiko needles and english directions.
